Going to spend some time in the Boulder mtns next week, thought I would venture to Calf Creek falls, what is the best time of day to photograph that area?

Daniel,

I just drove by it and the area is closed for restoration. I suggest calling the inter-agency center in Escalante to find out if it's open to hiking (you will need to park by the highway and walk in since the visitor area is blocked off).

I would pack in about half a dozen SB-28 flash and CyberSyncs, and shoot it at night.

If you are going during the day I found that arriving at the Lower falls about 9:30 and staying until the Sun creates to be around 10 AM. 2 months difference in seasonal change may alter this however.
