Preening
I went down my local patch this morning to photograph kingfishers, and was fortunate get him preening only the third time I captured this on camera.

An excellent image made even more so by the falling rain. A close up of a rain drop bouncing off its wing would be nice.

Nice work Dale - I have several almost identical images but, sadly, without the rain which certainly adds something to it :toast:

Stunning work Dale, however, and I'm not sure what you can do about it but the perch coming out of the side of the frame like that just doesn't sit right for me.. All that said I'd be pleased as punch to get anything near as good.

Terrific Dale.Rain always enhances and what little light there is,has made that wing really shine.
