Just been directed to this Dutch newspapers magazine:
http://www.hetkontakt.nl/fotowedstrijd/nominaties

As you can see they are running a photo comp with a prize of €250. Some of you may notice the lamb photo....for those that don't, it's mine, however I didn't enter this competition! Seriously unimpressed!

I've mailed all the editors listed in the contact us page so lets see what they reply with, or who replies. Also want to find out who entered the competition with my image as I have a few choice words for them as well!!!

Be warned, the person who alerted me to this also said the photographer in question has done this before with other pictures. Disgusting!

EDIT: Turns out it was entered twice under two different names

EDIT TWO:
Result!

Image has been removed, they have put up note about the image being miss-used (with a link back to my site) and also had to restart the voting due to there now bieng a new image in the competition.

I still want to know who entered it though...

This is why comps should always ask for the RAW files to stop this happening

Appalling Richard - someone sent me a link the other week to where a trip organiser was using an uncredited bear shot to advertise a forthcoming trip that wasn't theres to use, simply because they had never been to the bears themselves; but entering a stolen image in a comp is just just taking the p*ss.

I hope you get their nuts in a vice...

Yes who is Peter?

On a serious note, it is completely disgusting that any competition would allow this to happen. I mean first of all just trustnig that the entrant owns the photo but to also have the same photo entered twice under a different name and STILL allow it to go through..seriously?!?!

No reply from any of my attempts to contact the paper yet but fingers crossed...!

Sorry to hear this Peter. Disgusting indeed. How do you know this photographer has done this before? He or she seems to be posting under a fake name. Hope you will get a respons from the newspaper soon. Let me know if I can help.

Hi Richard,

Such action is way below the belt. I hope you are able to name and shame.

Cheers

Austin
