Barn Owl
From last weekend, experimenting with a monopod and my new 20D and 500.

It is full frame with a little post processing (sharpening and saturation).

Comments appreciated

Hi Brian
a very good picture of a beautiful bird. Is there any special time of day to see Barn Owls hunting?

Hi Brian,
Nice to have such a subject to experiment with, I like the scene but think the bird should be less central. Great light though, most jealous.

Hi Brian
Lovely shot. I agree with Tim that the image wopuld be improved if the bird were slightly further to the left. Given that this is uncropped, howver, it would be difficult to achieve without losing the grass, which is a key part of the image. Well jealous - I only ever see our local barn owls after dark.

Hi Brian

Really nice shot but ditto the bird is a little too central!

I'd agree with the compositional comments above.

Very nice indeed. A little of the space behind the bird cropped off would,IMO,round this one off nicely. :toast:

Agree the bird is too central but a slight crop from left and top would solve that, otherwise a cracker...
