A little bit of Montana backcountry
I've really enjoyed seeing all the backcountry photos of Colorado lately. Thought I would post one of my own from my favorite place in the Montana backcountry. Sorry no clouds to speak of the whole time we spent here. Seems to happen to me a lot. This was shot in Hilgard Basin.

Thanks for taking a look. I would appreciate any comment, critique, opinion or anything else you would like to add.

Can't wait to get in there someday. Who needs clouds with frame-filling alpenglow like this!

This is quite the OHMYGOD scene, Dean. Incredible.

Definitely nice to see Montana represented. Even sans clouds, this is a great shot, Dean.

Nice alpenglow! Even without clouds this has a lot of great elements to look at.

Awesome, Dean! A scene with excellent depth with strong fore-, mid- and background and great reflection. Yeah, clouds would be nice, but it's still a strong image and you did well to minimize the sky. Hope to get back there, hopefully next year. Is this Expedition lake looking back up to the trail going out of the basin?

Doug, this is back quite a bit further. Like the last lake in the basin, Blue Paradise I think. The sad thing about this basin is that the outfitters have trampled it to death. I can't understand what they don't instate no camping zones around the lakes.

Thanks for the comments.

Who needs clouds with scenery like that!

Beautiful Image Dean, lovely area. Definitely can relate to being frustrated by the outfitters. On my way out last weak I saw 15 horses all in one very small meadow by a lake, tied to a no horses sign...

You did indeed capture this in all of its glory!
Just about perfect all the way around.

Woah... great scene and colors! It bugs me ever so slightly how the peak reflection is almost just touching the foreground rock... but that's an extremely picky nit pick so feel free to disregard!
