Evening Mrs Mallard
I've not been out much recently, but here's one from a few weeks back. Taken early evening to make the most of the light.

1D MKIII, 1/640, f5.6, 700mm, iso500

Hey Graham,
very beautiful lit bird, I like the cold warm contrast.
Here I would leave the reflection because its not clear enough
and set the bird lower in the frame. Just a personal taste.

Hi Graham,

I agree with Bertl that the image would be stronger with the bird lower in the frame.

Cheers

Hello Graham.

Beautiful light on the mallard which as made the bird stand out very nicely in whats almost a mono setting. The composition is fine for me and so is the soft reflection blending in nicely with the out of focus water.

Thanks everyone. This was one of those crop dilemas - in my mind, if I'd cut the reflection, the comments would have been 'shame you cut the reflection', so I decided to leave it.

Thanks again guys
