Something Different-Greylag Geese
Over the course of several days, visiting this same site, I had started to try and capture the light and birds differently, and on this morning the light was amazing again.I picked these Greylag Geese up very, very early in the viewfinder as they circled around the lake before their final desent.I panned with the birds in the viewfinder, pulling my eye slightly back as the birds flew past the sun which had just started to rise, creating this amazing effect from the light and lens.Nothing has been done to the image in photoshop,no filters used, its one image not several put together, presented as seen at the time, and again alot of luck involved.

Wow Craig that's certainly different, not sure what to say. There is a lot going on, sometimes less, like the swan picture you posted, is best. Maybe work better with just one of the birds?

Brilliant stuff !
The one tiny thing that spoils it for me is the bird on the right, and maybe a bit too much bottom space.
No big deal though. Worth getting up for. I can't get up early unless I don't go to bed

Good to see the results of those creative juices flowing, Craig.  It is certainly different, maybe even unique. Keep it up. :wavey:

That is incredible Craig. Most people would just shout "Photoshop" if they saw this without your explanation.

Good to see new styles appearing in nature.

Cheers

Austin

Love this one Craig - wonderful colours, beautiful lighting, mist, some reflection on the water and with plenty of action/movement thrown in - it's got the lot in my opinion

You really are exploiting the early morning conditions at your site to the full - well done.
And it would look good as a pano with some cropped off the bottom, but then I do like panos

Cracking image Craig, very different and you've exploited the conditions well. I agree a panoramic would work well. :toast:

Nice to see something a bit different - great splatter of light going on there!

the light is incredible Craig and it certainly gives a different feel to the image. You're getting some great early morning shots. I'm less keen on the arcs of colour on the top left and would perhaps like a little off the bottom, but an interesting an unusual image.

Hi a nice looking image, the lighting effect is caused by internal reflections and flair inside the lens.

Even if it had been produced in Photoshop it would still be an incredible piece of work. From the look of the comments I suspect this is a marmite shot - people will love it or hate it. Personally, I think it is great.

Thank you all for your comments and the image is different and in parts down to luck but the idea I had sort of worked, panning into the light at the same time pulling back your eye from the viewfinder   Thanks again  :wavey: :toast: :jump:
