Upcoming Full Moon
Every August at dawn and if positioned correctly for capture you can catch the full moon setting behind Mt. Whitney. I did in August 2008 but was unable to catch the perfect alpen glow shot, there's a trick to it, moving North and South with Whitney still in view and moving farther away and closer to speed up the setting or delay it. Anyway here's a sample captured at Lone Pine Creek Campground. Olympus E-500 Iso 100 f/11 300mm Telephoto 1/100

Paul,
What a great shot. Thanks for the heads up. Best Regards.

Cool shot, Paul. Was this taken the morning after the full moon or the following day when the moon sets a little later?

Great shot Paul. I like the slight tension created with the moon merging slightly with the ridge line.

Pretty intense warmth in the glow, maybe a bit strong for my tasted, but not bad. I may be tempted to crop some of the sky, but just like color, it's all a matter of taste.

Good luck this year!

I agree with Lon about the color intensity; nevertheless, this is spectacular, Paul.
Blue and gold always go well and topped off with a full moon. WOW!
