Too big in the frame for my tastes and a shame about the sunflower husk
Messy background doesn't phase me as you are drawn to the eye.
I'm not sure that the portrait format works in this instance; a landscape orientation using the eye/sight line may have been better - but that all depends on what is happening left of frame

I love the 'Seen/Heard you' pose you have captured here Andy, the size in the frame reflexes the image for me as he came to close and heard your shutter, the OOF foreground adds a sense of peeking into the life of this subject for me.I love seeing behaviour captured in wildlife and that makes this image for me
Large in the frame but I don't imagine there's much that could be done about that. I'd have actually cropped a touch off the top to lose some of the darker background. A nice intimate image however

Nits covered already
As for being too large in the frame, there wasn't much i could do about this as i didnt have time to remove the TC and could not move backwards
Simon, i tried taking a little from the top as suggested, i agree it improves the shot
Thanks again guys
