Stacked Incy Number 1
Spider (with egg cocoon )
(Not sure which one but am working on it ! )
This stacking game is really good fun, but can be a bit time consuming to say the least ! This shot using 15 pictures is one of a series of many attempts taken during most of yesterday. . Got a few gliches but am getting there slowly. The depth of field is so minute with a 50mm macro at nearest focal point that I am missing some planes. Still in the early learning stages.
As I say - great fun though. You have to find your Incy that doesn't wiggle of course !
D200 Sigma 50mm Macro.
25th sec @f4.5
100ISO
Levels/70% of full frame
Stacked in CZM

this looks like it's worked very well John. I assume you chose f4.5 because you were using natural light and didn't want too slow a shutter speed? I tend to stack only 2 or 3 frames and do it manually so hats off to you for stacking 15!

Matt
Yes thats more or less right. In actual fact even holding the short cable relase was causing a bit of wobble so I used the IR one.
The aperture was chosen as its supposed to be sharper around there .
Don't know too much - only playing really !!
Cheers

You're really getting the hang of this stacking business John - nice work :toast:

Sounds like a lot of hard work went into this image. It has paid off well, and is far, far better than my feeble attempts at stacking.

A very obliging spider you found there. John, or did you bore it rigid talking about photography, etc, as my granddaughter often accuses me of when trying to wean her off the 'Twilight Saga'.  Excellent technique, of course using the right lens.

Excellent John. The colours and details are great. Lot of work but worth it.
