In July I went on an amazing photo trip/vacation to Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and Glacier National Parks. We were out for 11 days and saw tons of beautiful locations. It was part vacation too so I didn't spend the whole time photographing but I got some great shots. I haven't finished editing the photos from Glacier but I do have all the Yellowstone and Teton shots done. I've started to load them up to my website and wanted to start off by sharing the Yellowstone ones for some C&C.
(I'll be adding more to my website, usually one every two days.) Click the links for larger versions.
#1. "Rim aglow" Taken on my first night upon arriving in Yellowstone. I was mainly shooting the nearby falls when I saw the sunset setting the canyon rim aglow.
#3. "Tower Falls" A tall, thin waterfall surrounded by trees; despite not being able to hike to the base of the falls I was still afforded this spectacular view from the top.
#4. "White Rust" An abstract scene captured in the terraces surrounding Mammoth Hot Springs. Thermophiles create the amazing colors seen here along the oddly shaped mineral deposits.
#6. "Pools of Light" The sunset was casting its last glow on Great Fountain Geyser creating a beautiful shimmer.
My personal favorite of the group.

The B/W of Tower Falls is a great capture...I like your treatment on that one. The grand Prismatic Pool is amazing...it actually looks like a 3d capture!!!
You have to see these on Jason's site since they are bigger.

You had a very productive trip! I love Otherworldly, but the shot of the Grand Prismatic Pool is probably my favorite. The Tower Falls shot just has too much vignetting for my tastes.
I really love your photos #4 and #5 are both amazing for their alien look and incredible color I love them. good work

The only thing I can say negative is that I wish you hadn't clipped the top of the ridge in the Grand Prismatic shot, and there's some halo issues with the first shot. But this is a really exceptional and way beyond ordinary set of images. It appears you Ortonized "Otherworldly" and "Tower Falls." Good choice.
I kind of cheated and actually used glamor glow from Nik Color Efex Pro for Otherworldly and Tower Falls. The "Halo" effect was done on purpose to the first one if you're talking about the tree. I did it to set it apart from the background more as it was harder to see before. I didn't think about the clipped ridge in the Grand Prismatic shot; I have another very similar shot without it clipped, should I swap it out for this one?

The second Grand Prismatic doesn't have the 3d effect I see in the first one....they are both good but in different ways.
They are certainly different. A little too different for my tastes, but that's what makes this form of art great. We don't all have to like or understand the other's work.

I love what you did with the Tower Falls image, and I like your repost of Grand Prismatic. #6 is really nice too, I'm just undecided on the tree. Looks like you had a great trip.

The black and white images are amazing.

#4 is my favorite of the bunch. The processing of the black & whites doesn't work for me personally. The Grand Prismatic repost is a much stronger image in my opinion.
