Another from some time spent recently with this species, again using a shallow DOF to keep the viewer on the eye of the subject.

Kind regards,

Brett

Up to your usual high standard Brett. Not sure about the OOF bits bottom right and left. The back end doesn't bother me. More of a personal preference than a crit.

Personally I prefer your previous one Brett. This one's just as good around the main head area but I find the two orange OOF blobs along the bottom and the shadowing a bit distracting. The OOF back end is also a little uncomfortable on the eye - sorry!

Overall I like it Brett, but I think the image could do with a slight levels adjust and perhaps a wee bump in saturation.

I'll ping you my version matey :wavey:

Thanks guys, all good stuff.. Out of the 10's that I have it's nice to see what appeals to people and what doesn't.. That's what the forum is good at..

My personal preference is for this one, Brett. Beautifully sharp where it matters, and I like the very low angle which gives a hint of that bright orange belly. I might have cut off a few millimetres on the right to give a little more space on the left, but that is a very minor nit indeed.

I like this one Brett. Only the OOF on the right front corner. May be a little PS??
Wel done.

Hi Brett, I too find the OOF bits on the bottom rhs particularly a little distracting too, but never the less a very fine image. A super b/g and very fine detail in this mini beast.Far better than any images I have had lately, which is zilch

Best wishes,

Fran :toast: :wavey: :wavey: :wavey: :toast:

Again sharp in the right places for what you wanted to achieve, but I must admit I would still love to see a stacked image of this subject to see it in all its full glory, and, dare I mention it?  in 3D as well.

Sharp where it matters most on the head and I like that sharp front leg.My only doubt would be the oof rear right.I can't make up my mind whether it is part of the wood or his rear leg and I think I'd like to see a definite edge to it,if you see what I mean.

Superb for me, the OOF elements don't worry me, anything taken in the field usually has some distracting elements. My eye is immediately drawn to where it matters, the head and eye

Hi Bret

another cracking close up :toast: :toast:

A bit of work in PS to get rid of the two blobs in the foreground would improve it
