I have seen many great photos here and have read a lot of good advice over the last couple of years. I always check these forums for the wildflower and Fall color conditions and I finally got up enough courage to try posting one of my images here. So here goes.....
This is sunrise at Clear Lake in the SanJuans taken July 28, 2010.
Thanks!

Hey Bill321, welcome from out of the shadows! There's a really, really excellent photo in there that needs a little help coming out. It just needs to be lightened up and have some contrast added. I love the lines and the clouds.

I agree with Todd, a hair brighter and a bit more contrast and this image would pop!

I also agree with the minor adjustments mentioned but this is a wonderful first post from a beautiful location. Welcome!
Sorry if it seems too dark.......I guess its time to calibrate my monitor again
I did some bracketing when I shot this and the next exposure in that series is indeed brighter and has more color and contrast in the field of flowers. However the clouds are starting to clip. So I stuck with this shot. Perhaps I should try blending the sky from this shot onto the flowers of the other. I had my soft-stop GND filters with me at the time, but I seem to have better luck blending in PS than I do with the filters and the un-natural dark line they leave in the photo.
I have a few more shots from this same general area that I might post later on.
Thanks again everybody !
Oh and I live in Castle Rock just south of Denver. We usually take vacation around this same time every year and have been trying to hit the SanJuans during wildflower peak the last few years. Sometimes we get there too early and sometimes too late. It is hard when you have to plan a vacation months ahead of time :(

Welcome, and lovely photo! I love skies like this that have color but still remain subtle. I don't find this too dark as is, but a little work with curves could bring out the best in it a bit more, give it a little more glow.

Welcome Bill! This is a sweet capture and with the above mentioned corrections it will really shine! I love the sprinkling of yellow flowers with the magenta ones.
Are you sure you want to be a part of this madness?
Welcome, and I think the comp is excellent. Just a little tweaking to make it pop as stated and it will be a hanger.
