Smorgasbord, Pt. 1
Here's another round of recent photos

1: Leading off, I made a quick trip to the Italian Dolomites with my wife, Morgan Fairchild.
Posted by Todd Caudle on August 7, 2010 at 12:16 PM
#2: After Italy, Morgs and I (she likes when I call her Morgs) headed to the Scottish Highlands. It was very rainy.
Posted by Todd Caudle on August 7, 2010 at 12:17 PM
#3: Okay, you caught me. I might've fibbed a little. She actually insists that I refer to her as Ms. Fairchild. Here's a shot from Corkscrew Pass of the sunset that almost was.
Posted by Todd Caudle on August 7, 2010 at 12:19 PM
#4: If you ever needed to know where the road to Hurricane Pass is, I've used my mad Cloudman skilz and helpfully encircled the route for you.
Posted by Todd Caudle on August 7, 2010 at 12:20 PM
#5: One of the things I love about digital shooting is how it extends the shooting day. Sun gone down? No problem! Just boost the ISO and/or shutter speed time.
Posted by Todd Caudle on August 7, 2010 at 12:21 PM
#6: Next morning. Red Mountain #3
Posted by Todd Caudle on August 7, 2010 at 12:22 PM
#7: McMillan Peak.
Posted by Todd Caudle on August 7, 2010 at 12:22 PM
#8: Later that day, columbines on Ophir Pass.
Posted by Todd Caudle on August 7, 2010 at 12:23 PM
#9: And a bunch of paintbrush and bluebells. The detail took a hit due to jpeg compression, but you get the idea.
Posted by Todd Caudle on August 7, 2010 at 12:24 PM
#10: Jumping into August, here's some fog in Schofield Park.
Posted by Todd Caudle on August 7, 2010 at 12:25 PM
#11: Sunset colors over the Ruby Range.
Posted by Todd Caudle on August 7, 2010 at 12:26 PM
#12: And post-sunset fog spilling over Yule Pass into the Slate River valley.
Posted by Todd Caudle on August 7, 2010 at 12:27 PM
#13: Next morning. Ruby Range morning pano. CLICK FOR LARGE VERSION
Posted by Todd Caudle on August 7, 2010 at 12:28 PM
#14: Fog along the Slate River below distant Mount Emmons.
Posted by Todd Caudle on August 7, 2010 at 12:29 PM
#15: On occasion the fog pushed up into the nearby forest. I cropped about 15% off the bottom of this one.
Posted by Todd Caudle on August 7, 2010 at 12:30 PM
#16: And finally, a shot from Taylor Park the next day. That is all for now.

Beautiful collection, Todd! I really like #3 & #13. .

Nice stuff! :toast: :toast: :toast:

Nice shots and all, but where's Morgs / Ms. Fairchild?

mmmm, I think I'm going to be sick from how full I am from that smorgasbord. I love #3 I at first thought it was of a volcano in iceland or something I love it, and then I think I busted a seam with that last image I think I would say i need a diet if it wasn't that this is a healthy food. great images Todd :D :toast: :jump:

Incredible, Todd! You continue to impress. In this post are some of my favorite shots of yours that I've seen in a long time, in particular #3 and #10. But they're all sweet.

Btw, OT, in #1 - the Dolomites, aka South Lookout, I've snowboarded down that peak, from the prominent notch... good fun.
Posted by Justin Peterson on August 7, 2010 at 4:16 PM
Hard to beat this series, Todd. Love that pano...and the rest of them! Are these all from the San Juans? Dumb question, probably.
Posted by Joe Rogers on August 7, 2010 at 4:31 PM
All fine images, but my favorites are #9 and #14. Oh, year, Todd....you put out some quite humorus B.S. which I also enjoy.

Justin: San Juans & Crested Butte area.
Joe: I don't know what you're talking about.

That is some smorgasbord! "Would you like an after dinner mint? ... It's wafer-thin."

Great collection.

You are on a freakin' roll these days, Todd. Those spilling clouds in #5 are awesome, #1 is seriously dramatic, and those clouds and silhouettes in #16 are really appealing.
Posted by Stan Rose on August 7, 2010 at 9:19 PM
Sweet! The clouds are great of course, but my favs are actually 9 & 10, they really stand out.

Formal: "What a fine collection of photographs."
Informal: "Dude, you rock!"
Morrisism: "Oh, Mommy!"

WOW!! This is a fine collection of pics. I'm jealous. :toast:

Todd, you're killing me! Just when I feel comfortable getting back out shooting again, I make the mistake of viewing your posts!

Fantastic images! 6, 8, 9,and 14 are my faves.

You're on a roll these days, Todd. Fabulous collection!

killer shots Todd!
Posted by Lance Warley on August 8, 2010 at 10:37 AM
Gee, too bad you only got 90.

The captions are almost better than the photos.

I think your next trip should be to South America with Salma Hayek.
Posted by Jeff Hackett on August 8, 2010 at 11:26 AM
Damn, that many great images in one day!?!?!?!? That's more like a week long trip for me, if I'm lucky. Super nice!
Posted by Don Grall on August 8, 2010 at 11:30 AM
1,3,5,15, etc. are my favorites. What a treasure pack of images you've been releasing this summer. How many miles have you put on this summer? Or is Scotty beaming you back and forth across our state?
Posted by Kurt Bowman on August 8, 2010 at 12:15 PM
Another wonderful series Todd! Love the dramatic clouds in these shots. Number 4 and 10 are my favorites. Number 4 looks like someone blew a huge smoke ring.
Posted by Guy Schmickle on August 8, 2010 at 12:57 PM
If only you had some nice atmospherics for these shots...that would've put em over the top! Seriously, that's a kick-butt collection. Any shots of you and Morgs backdropped by the San Juans??
Posted by Todd Caudle on August 8, 2010 at 1:59 PM
Those are in my private stash, Guy.
Posted by Dan Walters on August 8, 2010 at 3:47 PM
Great images! Really like the composition in #10!
Posted by Dave Showalter` on August 8, 2010 at 4:21 PM
That's part one??!! You've definitely stepped it up a notch. 10 & 12 are standouts IMHO. :toast:
Posted by John Mumaw on August 8, 2010 at 4:26 PM
All I can do at this point is to echo what everyone else has said, and also what that guy once said about you being the quintessential Colorado photographer.
Real eye candy, each and every image. Picking a favorite or two seems to be in order here, so I'll second Stan's choices of #'s 9 & 10. #9 has officially replaced the previous flower shot you offered up as my favorite wildflower image of the year.
Posted by Pam Colander on August 9, 2010 at 7:07 PM
So SO good each and every one Todd! Favs are 1-15...I don't like that yellow blob of cloud in 16  A Toddelicious smorgasbord!

#16 for me, nice composition and light
