Blue Lakes
I spent a few nights at Blue Lakes this week. The highlight was catching this killer sunrise from the middle Blue Lake. This shot has long been on my "wish list" so I was stoked to get such a nice sunrise to go along with it. See the link below for a version with alpenglow (I can't decide which one I like more).

Thanks for looking! :toast:

Those are some sweet shots, Jack, and some perspectives I haven't really seen. The light was great for all of these and that rock "glacier" is something I wouldn't have noticed. Great series as usual.

Sa-weet light in this one - love the reflection. They're all really nice. I like what you're doing with your compositions.

OMG--that is tooo pretty, Jack! I prefer this shot posted by a mile. Also love the perspective on the waterfall shot. Good stuff.

Four very sweet shots, Jack! For me, the color in the sky and reflection in the first beats the alpenglow in the second. I really like both the others, too. I don't remember noticing the psychedelic rock glacier when I was there, but it was a while back.

I am definitely in favor of the first one! They are all great but number one just reaches out and grabs ya.

Perfect comp, perfect light, perfect color, perfect exposure, perfect processing. This one tops them all! And that is quite a feat. I wonder what it's like to be "in the bigs".

Very cool! I, too, prefer the first one to the one with alpenglow but would be extremely thrilled to have witnessed either scene. What a really great series of photos.

I've seen, and shot, other images from that spot, but NOTHING like this! Wow!

The one you posted is a killer shot! I like the others as well.

Both great shots, but the color in this one makes it the winner.

Drop dead beautiful and my favorite of the bunch. I really love the comp too.

Beautiful reflection Jack!

Put me in the column for the one you posted here, Jack.

So serene, so peaceful. This is probably a contradiction, but the muted colors pop.

Truly beautiful! I do prefer the one posted here.

Another vote for the one you posted here. All are great, but this one is a killer!

I definitely prefer the one posted here, it is more peaceful and contemplative and the sky and reflection is much more pleasing. That said the alpenglow shot is quite acceptable and I would love to have it in my collection as well.

Oh man....very tasty, and the morning is the best, IMHO.

I can't choose between the alpen glow one and the one you posted here. Both of them are very nice.

On another note, I have a friend who's looking for someone to do a website for him where people would have to pay monthly for access. I don't know anything more but it isn't a photography site. The guy is an attorney so he should have some money.

If you're interested, email me at dbaumbach@timelesslight.com.

You should be stoked to get this shot! It's fabulous in every way. I too prefer the shot you posted over the alpenglow (although not by much). That pano is killer too.

Thanks all for your comments! Glad to hear that this one is the majority favorite... I couldn't decide on my own.

Todd - I must admit, your photo from here was an inspiration!

Great color and I love that reflection!

Another vote for the one you posted here. Perhaps the best image I've ever seen from this location.

This is one of my favorite shots of yours Jack. It is intensely beautiful. This is the kind of photo that I dream about and it seems you routinely nail these kind of shots. The above shot is by far my favorite of the group.

Sweet Mother Mayhem that's a great shot!!

I just love the reflections. But the whole series is great.

Really terrific series. The first is the best of the bunch for me.

The dawn reflection/first image is a supreme shot, imo, for composition, color, camera position, lighting. Part of the cream layer. :toast:
The pano with the rock glacier looks a little bright on my monitor. A really good set with excellent perspectives.

Each one is stunning Jack! Wish I could get my old butt up to the places you do. Thanks for another wonderful series of eye candy.

Hey, those are purdy!
Really like this one posted and the rock glacier pano.

Stunning work as usual! If you're ever looking for a tag-a-long in Colorado I would to follow you to some of these amazing locations. (I'm an eagle scout with plenty of backpacking experience, so don't worry, I can keep up  )
