Kingfishers - househunting in habitat ( not the store! ) + re-post
One from a few weeks ago when this pair were looking for a nest site. I know the background is rather busy but, as the title says, this is an image to convey something about the habitat of these beauties.

As ever, c&c most welcome

Taken with Canon 7D and Canon 70-200 L IS f/2.8 lens (tripod mounted)at 195mm, 1/40th sec, f/13, ISO800, Exp comp -2/3

Sorry - just realised I've posted an unsharpened version  Here's the proper version

great habitat shot Jeff the repost looks a tad to sharp though

Yes I must agree with Karen that the repost is over sharpened. Nice to see the 'des res' of a pair of kingfishers.

My favorite species of bird and always nice to see a couple like this on a perch.
Sharpening issues have been mentioned but that aside i enjoyed watching this scene.

greetings,

a nice habitat shot Jeff, I always enjoy seeing KFs in their environment. I think the ideal sharpening would be somewhere between the two. Maybe a touch more contrast as well?
