Birch bark
Felled some Birch today during a break from typing chores and the bark was incredible. It was a round branch about 1 and a half inches diameter -hence the stacking.
I can imagine Hiawatha doing this and saying to Minnihahaa - Hey darling come and look at my log - we could make a boat out of this stuff !!

Patterns in nature area great.. I might have used a CP filter to try and reduce the reflected light area at the top of the frame or moved it to a more shady spot. However, it does highlight the flakey nature of the bark.

Lovely creative image John I have 4 different sub-species of Birch trees in the garden but have never thought of this

Thanks both
Brett I left it to try and show the curve of the branch (or more like a twig ! )
I haven't got one of those filters anyway. Done a dakening job. Cheers

Very nicely presented John. This would make for a good wallpaper in the right house

Interesting shots, John. I think I prefer the first, lighter version.

The burning hasn't quite worked on the 2nd post John but I understand what you were trying to do re. the curve but I'll leave it up to you to decide..

First one for me too John, it's different to the usual shots we see on here and it works for me, like it very much.

Thanks again.
I should have left well alone- At least it was a round twig and I suppose they do have highlights. etc else we wouldn't know they were round would we ?
