When I agreed to co-moderate with Bill, I don't think I realized just how difficult choosing the Pick of the Week would be. To make matters more difficult, this was an exceptionally fine week in the Flora Gallery. I finally chose Larry Lynch's Gerber because of it's aesthetic appeal, creative point of view and outstanding presentation. There's obviously a subjective element to the choice and I make no claims otherwise, although I did look at the response of the gallery for confirmation of the decision. Doug Benner's beautiful macro study Morning Light, Youssef Ismail's painterly Impressions of Spring, Mike Gallo's masterfully photographed Parrot Talk and Ian Wolfenden's striking Purple Flames are as fine a group of Flora images as I've seen and each was a very strong candidate. There were also at least a dozen other very accomplished images in the gallery this week submitted by regularly posting members as well as folks relatively new to the gallery including Mark Stahlke, Peter Conway and Scott Smorra.

Thanks to all of you who participated this week. May all your algorithms be finite. (smile)
