My take on The Cirque of the Towers...

Following Scott's fine images of The Cirque is a tall order, nonetheless, I have gathered a few of my own images on my website to share with you all. As Scott mentioned, the conditions were tough, not a cloud in the sky and the nature of the The Cirque's geology causes much of the valley to be in shadow early in the day. Good light was limited to about the first hour before it got pretty harsh. I can only imagine how amazing this place would have been with just a few clouds, but as it was, I tried to keep the bare blue sky as limited as possible in my framing. Some of these probably won't stay on my site, so please share your opinion's on which need to be axed. Images can be found here:

Thanks!

Really great images, I was hoping to get down to the winds myself this summer but that doesn't look like it will happen. Thats some sweet alpen glow! :toast:

Looks like you did a good job with what Mother Nature gave you. I really like the alpenglow reflections! I do think some of them may be a little repetitive - is that why you may take some of them down? My favorites are probably #70 and 72, with a slight nod to #70 because I like the wider composition.

Great stuff given the conditions Paul. I love the reflections and alpen glow.

Cool stuff, I'll be heading there the end of this month. Hoping for some wild and crazy weather....and no bears. ;]

Very intriguing area. My favorites to keep would be #69, followed by 71 & 72. Also like 74, but it might need a darkening of the left side.

That is some sweet light! I like all of these in this set with #70 being my favorite. I am really liking the comp in that one. :toast:

Nice work and great job managing the light balance.

I really like #s 70, 71 & 74. The cloudless skies don't matter to me very much when you have nice early morning glow and great comps that more than compensate!

Thanks for the opinions, guys -- I will be getting rid of 1 or 2 of the images, so this help a great deal (since I can't be objective).

Paul, these are great! My pics would be 69 and 72, and maybe 74 as well, since the waterfall is sweet. I might give that one a little more dodging and burning, though.
