Two nights, two storms
Lots of storms going around us Friday and Saturday, though none hit us here in town either night. Friday night I took my wife and daughter out for some meteor watching. We saw a few, but a storm to the east was producing lots of lightning. Saturday night I went out chasing the lighting by myself, and feel like I have a couple dozen mosquito bites for each lightning strike captured.

The first is from Friday night. The farmstead is probably close to 1/2 mile away, and the telephone poles along the next mile section road are barely visible. 25 sec, ISO 1600, f/5, 165 mm which made focusing in the dark very hard :).

Saturday night. Nothing to put in front of the lighting except open fields.

Wow. I like the first one with all the stuff in the foreground, but that second picture really grabs you. Did you get the horrendous winds with these storms? 93mph through Manhattan Friday night.

#2 is my favorite, but great work on both.

Rob, they are both good, but IMO the first is dynamite!
