Long Wait
Well somebody said that they agree that this forum needs more photo posts (thanks Gary), and that's an opportunity I can't pass up. Here's a photo that got all dressed up to be shared almost a year ago but never got its chance. It's just another illustration of the relationships between rocks and ice that have played such an important role around our great state.

"Boulder and Ice" - not the most original title

I'm sure glad I helped push you into posting more photos! This is absolutely beautiful! Your glacier photos are always impressive and this is no exception. I really like the contrast of textures and shapes here. The soft round ice formations versus the rough sandpaper like rock. Very few people, not even Alaskans, get the opportunity to get this up close and personal with a glacier so it's especially that you are willing to share your experiences.

Wow! Makes me rethink my aversion to cold places. I'm an old desert rat, growing up with the conviction that walking on water wasn't safe. Sure fun to look at though!

Thanks for posting this Kent! I agree with Gary, this is extraordinary - and we do need more photos posted here. Your glacier images are always exceptional.
I finally got to explore an ice cave this past June, spent far too little time "inside" this magical place and can't wait to find more. Thanks for the inspiration.
