I thought I'd post the B&W version of this image that was made when Harley, Lon and I were up at Sonora Pass. We had fun working this waterfall. I used the channel mixer on an already processed color image and then made a few slight adjustments.
Excellent conversion, Preston. This formation provides a very unique twist to the water flow and overall angle of view from this perspective. I lean toward the color one, as I always do, but I'm sure both will make very fine prints.

Preston,
Tough call, but I think I might give the edge to the color version. I think the slight variations in color and tone help separate and define the elements a little better than just the tones of the b&w. But it's very close and both are great images of form and motion. I just love the little "veil" of water in front of the deep shadows.
I too have a tighter version of this... it's amazing how we all managed to hone in on this little section of the falls. I'm not sure mine is salvageable though. I really like both yours and Harley's versions though.
This was 'quick and dirty' conversion. I think this has excellent possibilities for B&W print (and a color one, too). I'll have to poke around with the tones to get this right.
