With that little front moving through last night, I knew I wanted to get up and shoot sunrise this morning. Unfortunately, I tossed and turned so much after going to bed that I got up around 2:30 and headed for the hills. By the time sunrise rolled around, I was pretty Dazed and Confused. After all, before settling on my go-to spot in the Wet Mountains, I drove Over the Hills and Far Away, putting in more miles than I had planned as I tried to find the margin of the cloud deck. It was a real Night Flight, if you know what I mean! I don’t know why I was so restless, but it was surely Nobody’s Fault But Mine.
I’ve shot this canyon pinnacle in the Wet Mountains so many times that I’ve often wondered How Many More Times I’d return here. Truth be told, I never tire of rounding the bend and seeing this pointy peak with no name rising high above. If it were a woman, I’d probably say to her, I Can’t Quit You Babe. I’ve just got a Whole Lotta Love for this place. When the sun comes up and it’s rising Into the Light, it’s a scene that can’t be beat. Add some fog and swirling clouds and it's even better. The light’s not as good In the Evening, as the light creates a Black Mountain Side, but stormy skies can help. At times when there’s no light or interesting clouds, it can be a real Heartbreaker, but at least it’s close enough that once I decide to Bring It On Home, I don’t have far to go.
Thank You.

#5: And if you've ever gone through this canyon and wondered why sections of the road are often covered with loose gravel, wonder no more. The end.
I was hopin youd make it out--cause by the time i got out, the sun was up and i was just a Fool in the Rain driving round aimlessly. Well, I wont Ramble On, ill just point out that #1 and #4 are awesome, #1 looks like Moby Dick rising out of The Ocean of fog, and #4 has those jagged rock steps, like a Stairway to Heaven. I figured all that road gravel was the result of it being Trampled under Foot. Well, Im Gonna Crawl back to bed now, before there's a Communication Breakdown and i can no longer add italics....
You probably felt like you were in Kashmir after that tour - number one is standout image.

The first five images are great, especially the first. But, I gotta say, the last three are just awful! Some sort of glare in the first, didn't bother to wipe the raindrops off the lens in the second, and the composition in the final one is just plain amateurish!

It's clear you Believe In Magic, Todd. Those clouds must have made you Glad to be out there. Looks like you were really out in the Boondocks where It Ain't Easy.
Hopefully, you were able to sleep better the following night, rather than laying there In Limbo.
Sometimes we have to make a Soul Sacrifice for these opportunities. Fortunately, it seems Things Get Better after The Weight of a trip like this no longer has us in a Lather.
You've clearly looked at clouds From Both Sides Now. Great shots.

The last web cam shot is a real Rain Song. I will cut you No Quarter Todd, I think #1 and #4 are exquisite. Were these shot In the Evening, oh yeah you said around sunrise. (just saw you already got that one) I must be having a Communication Breakdown(Stan you got me here too). Hey, Hey, What Can I do but go Down By the Seaside in this White Summer and wait for the universe to say Your Time is Gonna Come while feasting on a Tangerine.
