I was doing my thing with the dolphins a few nights ago and spotted a cargo boat barreling down the Firth and as the dolphins often bow ride on the pressure wave I got ready for some action. But they decided not to bother. However one of the gulls that was mooching about hoiking out scraps from the various salmon that the dolphins were munching on decided to fly along towards the boat to inspect a dolphin active in the water at the rear of the vessel. As I always shoot on Av I quickly spun the dial and lowered the aperture, getting a slow shutter speed and panned along with the gull, against the movement of the boat.

That's certainly different John. I'm not quite sure what to make of it! I think it would have had more impact if the body of the gull wasn't so transparent but then again I am not so sure. It definitely gets you thinking. :toast: :toast:

I think its rather good. Looks like a gull racing around a velodrome. To me its a shame about the middle line that runs through the gull, but not much you could have done about that!

I like different and I believe people should always push the boundaries and this certainly does that, in a good way, not sure if I like it or not but certainly makes you look, I like the comp shame about the line as said, but certainly well spotted :toast: :toast: :toast: :toast:

Great idea, but I find the hull upper stripe overpowering at present, can you selectively lighten the entire middle strip where the gull is flying to give it more punch?
