Hi everyone,

I am planning a trip to Scotland for two weeks somewhere in September or Oktober. I will focus on landscapes and plan to vist the Isle of Skye.
The actual dates still needs to be decided and that will depend on the research I still have to do and the advice I get here.
What would actually be best time to go in September or Oktober? When is autumn at its peak?
I know weather in Scotland is quite unpredictable, but maybe someone can alwo give some advice on when the wheather is best?

Thanks for your help.

Autumn is at it's peak, colour wise at the end of October. But this can vary dramatically between the east and west sides of the country.
Generally speaking October is a mixed month in terms of weather. Most of the month can be overcast with only glimpses of sunshine, but these glimpses tend to very dramatic and make for great photos. Again, east and west can very a lot..
If you are looking for Autumn colour then October is your best bet, and the later the better. September doesn't really have a lot to offer, except hordes of midges and a sense that Autumn is on its way.

Enjoy yourself whenever you decide to go :wavey:
