I've not had the chance to get out too much over the summer (so much for the macro plans then !!), so good to find this greenfinch posing nicely.

1DMkIII + 500mm + 1.4x TC
1/400sec at f/7.1 and ISO200

You have a good background, and a pose to match here. It is also nice and sharp where it needs to be. The only downside for me is that the highlights appear to be blown, especially on beak and legs. Could just be my works monitor though.

Dave, must admit I am not sure that the highlights are blown and even if they are it does not detract from the picture.

It's a good clean image Dave, the BG is very complimentary too, give those legs another go and you have a smart image.
