ok guys....jokes on me i guess....a momentary lapse of reason...
i had to move really fast to catch this tortoise action. it all happened in seconds. no time to set anything up, just dive in the
mud and get clicking.....
not really, this fellow drinking is about as much action as i saw, apart from the mating ones, which i'll post later.
still, even though no chases, kills or problems in stalking the target, it was still amazing to meet these monstrous warps of creation lumbering about their native home.

Lovely Mark - one day I will get to the Galapagos....
Cool photo and story, Mark. Maybe you should get one of those cameras with a hugh buffer to be able to get the necessary 10 shots a second, to show this formidable action....

Interesting shot, looking forward to the tortoise mud wrestling.

They probably remember photographers with wooden boxes and capes!
Cheers Simon
You must have had a excellent experience there, anyway you got a brilliant shot of an great tortoise away from a Zoo
Good to see your reflexes are highly tuned and capable of reacting to this fast and furious action
A nice image of these fast moving creatures well caught, perhaps needs a bit of a lift in contrast.....
