Shrine Pass
I'm still waiting for some of my LF film to return, so I thought I'd share something different.

Took a trip up onto Shrine Pass with my wife a few weeks back. We got a late start, but all was not lost as popcorn clouds drifted through all morning.

Canon EOS 3, 17-40L @17mm, f16, CPL, Kodak UltraColor100

Scanned on a Nikon Ls-4000

And a bit higher up the trail, the flowers change to a mass of paintbrush and lupine.

same tech as above.

For some reason, both of these look much softer and a bit larger than the file I've intended to uploaded. Sorry about that.

What a pallet of color! I haven't' seen Shrine with such an impressive bloom. Looks like it was a great year for flowers out there.

Wow!! Bill and I missed that when we went through three about 4 weeks ago.

I really like the poetic flow of that second one.

I also like the flow of the 2nd image, Mel. In the 1st one, however, I find the unnaturally dark sky very distracting. On the other hand, you might consider darkening the bright foreground a little bit.

I don't know how we missed this stuff, Rich. Must have been your fault.

Excellent comp and color in that second one. The first one is well done, too, but seems a touch dark on the upper half on my monitor.

You did a much better job shooting the "big picture" than I did when I was up there! Very nice stuff, Mel.
