I have been working on Kingfishers at two sites on and off for several months. At long last, I managed this morning to get one shot of a Kingfisher emerging from the river after attempting to fish. I have discovered that the wireless remote I have been using has an inherent delay that has been preventing the capture of the initial dive. This remote has now been replaced by a nikon extension cable that fits onto a cable release whcih should hopefully now do the trick.
Nikon D3s with Nikon 70-200 lens at 135mm.
1/8000, F4 at ISO 2000.
PP in LR3. Full Frame.
Thanks for looking.

Hi Andrew
Great attempt of a very difficult shot I would prefer if it wasn't so big in the frame and a lighter background.
I presume you are using a bucket with fish in it?
Amazing shot whit great timing, i love these birds.

Love the dark background on this - really shows off the bird.
My "emerging" shots of a kingfisher were taken from a hide above the action, so only have water as the backdrop. I need to add some diving shots to my collection.
