Swan Couple
I had this image in mind when i went to Lake Geneva today so was pleased to have it in the bag within a couple of hours of arriving,The hardest part was getting the image without wildfowl being in the foreground/background

I think this is inspirational, you've got something here, I'd go for a portrait format and emphasise the symmetry. Beautiful scene.

Hi Dave
Very nice, I too would go to portrait, I do like the featureless BG and the simplicity.

This is a winner Dave. I agree that it would also work in portrait but I love this composition. It is the contrast between the 'smallness' and near symmetry (in two planes) of the birds and the wide, uniform expanse of the lake & mist that makes the shot so striking. Don't change a thing!

Hi Dave

Stunning image, it is so good I think it would work in either format. The lighting and symmetry of the birds is very special!

Yet another stunningly beautiful and artistic image.
I think your spoilt for choice regarding compositions with this one,as,it works great as presented,I feel it would also look good in portrait format, and a panoramic crop would also suit it.
Very nice indeed.

Very appealing image with lots of attractive cropping options.

Super..... I think you have so many options for cropping here that you could have a different image each day from the same file

I just love the simplicity and your initial choice of crop and it is a pleasure to view, would love this as a large print on my wall here at the museum.

P.S. Have you done anything to the water/BG to make them so silky and seamless? Not suggesting anything wrong if you have, just wondering!

Hi Michael
The image is as taken,Adjustments to levels, sat, curves etc,I used the big lens and x2 to give added compression as the mist lifts you can see montreux in the background,Infact if you look hard towards top right you can just see,We had 9 straight mornings like this and it was only last night that the weather broke and rain today,As there was so many swans on the lake in one area there were lots of swabbles and displays so made it into a small project to try to get as many different images of this popular subject,I am very pleased with this image and would go as far to say its one of the most pleasing i have ever taken and would like to see my style of photography progress in this direction
