Just returned from an overnight in Jefferson Park. Came in / out via south brieghtenbush t.h. Trail was snow free as was the park. Flowers are peaking ( probably a week of good color and variety left ) Lupine and paintbrush are most prevalent near the streams and lakes. Bugs are terrible this year. . . bring a mosquito net and lots of repellent or you'll be miserable. We were surprised by a really strong thunder/lightning storm that started 3 small fires about 500 yds from camp @ scout lake (fires put themselves out by morning)

I will say that this area is one of the most scenic places I have seen in Oregon. I could easily spend a week exploring and shooting the park.

First photo from the trip - sunrise at Russell Lake is over in ESS. I'll post another one here when I get it processed.

Was going to go this weekend.... then I got committed into shooting a huge soccer tournament happening here in PDX. Bummed but appreciate the report.
