Sparrow hawk
One from today a big crop as it was only a grabbed shot as it flew past, after just servicing my 800.

I have changed my mind on the ID of this several times, but now think I agree with Rob. The tail seems a bit short for a sparrowhawk, and the legs a bit thick. However, I still remain to be totally convinced either way. Whatever the species, it is still a great capture.

A tough call, but I think I'm in agreement with Rob too.

I am glad I am not the only one having trouble with Goshawks and Sparrowhawks, especially from a distance!!! As soon as I saw this image I thought Goshawk but didn't want to say anything. A superb shot Phillip, one I would be well proud to have taken. :toast: :jump:

No idea on the ID Phil, sorry.

I am very impressed with the details seen under the wings. Great work.
