Heck, he's selling calendars and I'm not...so props to him. As long as I don't see any Wyoming ones that is...hahah.

I guess you need to see it in person, because the web version looks okay. It just looks like a heavy-handed shadow/highlight job, and then everything beyond the flowers is out of focus.
Chris: Huh?

I think some photographers need an intervention for their HDR abuse. To follow up on John's post, here's one of the worst HDRs I've ever seen ... from a great photographer and great guy, but this shot gave me nightmares...

Oh my gosh, Grant. Even your advance warning wasn't enough to prepare me. I had to go get a couple of aspirins after taking a look at that. Ewwwwww!
Is it possible Till was deliberately trying for a surrealistic looking result?

"Is it possible Till was deliberately trying for a surrealistic looking result?"
If so, then he's been doing it a lot lately.
However, he tells his 'fans' that this is how he saw these images in the field, and his recent forays into Lightroom have helped 'complete his vision'.
I think it's one of the saddest things I've ever seen happen to a man whom I once respected so highly.

I thought the JF link looked OK too. Did you read the positive comments on TTs images? They must be enjoying the acid trip! Did you click on his next image? Read his commentary about it...geeze, ya think ?!?

On the positive side, Fielder's daughter, Ashley, who worked for one of the Springs TV stations a few years ago, has landed at channel 4 in Denver, and as she was in the Springs, she's an excellent on-air presence.
Grant, that was downright painful... I am honestly at a loss for words.

My eyes now feel blinded...I am not sure I will ever recover

Todd;
Did you forget? I need to send some out. Any other takers?
Interestingly enough with some of these guys who have always shot big land cameras - in repect to digital photography, they are trying to ride the 'wave', and ask anyone nowadays it's HDR and the blending techniques. It's obvious they aren't getting it quite yet, but neither did alot of us.... I worked for JF, and I can tell you this: he didn't involve himself in the post-processing portion of the imagery like most of us do - it was simply part of his procedure. He would have the people at the lab take care of it, and then print it. The thing that John excelled at was being a true salesman, take it or leave it - but he made it work, and that's pretty admirable.
Not sure if he's trying the HDR himself, but I would venture to guess its the lab making the images look this way. I know what John shoots with and I'm pretty sure he's not bracketing his exposures.
With Tom Till, who knows? That image through the window is pretty wild.

Oh yeah! I thought you were referencing something to do with this post, and I was just not getting it. Nothing new there!

22 repliesI found the cover of the calendar here, but that doesn't really show what you're (politely) referring to.

But that TT stuff is just absolutely god awful. Someone should do him a favor and destroy his PC, like in that awesome scene from Office Space...
Just about the time I think I should start learning HDR I see something like this. Yuckkkkkk
