Topaz DeNoise 5
I finally spent the $$$$ to purchase this excellent plug-in. I tried it first with an unlimited 30-day trial and was impressed. Topaz is offering it at $49.99 thru the end of this month. I will post a before/after image here and encourage all of you to take a look. Comments/Questions encouraged!!!

I have to admit Todd, I'm not seeing much of a difference

Hey Todd - At this size, the only thing I can see is that it looks like DeNoise is applying some sharpening. Any chance you could post some 100% crops of the center, and an OOF area? Before and after side by side would be great.

It is hard to tell a difference at this smaller web size. But I will agree with you on Topaz DeNoise 5 it works very nicely as all of Topaz Labs plugins, they seem to be one of the bargains as far as ps plugins the work very well.

note how the detail remains and the bkgr noise is history... it is important to be careful with the levels as on can ruin images if not... make sure to retain original by using "save as".

Sandy Richards posted an image recently in the Avian Gallery where she used one of the Topaz Lab filters. That led me to investigate their products. In particular, Todd, I've also been experimenting with this NR plug-in. I like it. As you know, it has several options. For example, for raw files we can select "lightest" through to "strongest with debanding" presets and then fine-tune what we see with many sliders. Also, it has an "auto brightness" feature that allows us to see the noise quite clearly. I'm still learning how best to apply it. For example, I understand that it is a good idea to click "reset all" before beginning noise reduction. So far, I've found that just using one of the presets with little or no adjustment does a very good job of removing noise pixels rather than bird image pixels. If you are a NAPP member you can obtain a discount too....also there is the 30 day free trial.
