Sunset on Wildcat Road
Took this shot last weekend up near Waterville while out with my Dad. I liked the way the sun was illuminating the grass in the foreground and thought it would make an interesting subject. I'm wondering about the tree in the background though. Too centered?

ISO 100, 10mm, f22, 1/2.

Really beutiful Scott. Love the way the foreground lights up with the sun rays.

Nice contrast of the clouds and the whisps of clouds

The color contrast between the blue sky and backlit foxtails is very striking, Scott. I think the tree position works OK here, since the smaller tree to the left gives more weight to the left side overall which makes it feel not-so-centered to me. Nice work!

I really like the backlit grass heads and the angle of the clouds. I think your chosen comp works just fine and doesn't feel centered. Nice work!

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Bill, very interesting what you said about the second smaller tree. Covering that tree up really alters the 'feel' of the photo and really makes it seem centered to me. One of those small details I need to learn to 'see' better in the field. I'm glad you made that comment, thanks!
