Hello friends,
I found this beauty sitting on a bush. As I came closer I could see
that her left fore wing was not developed completely. So she could
not fly. A big chance for me to get some close ups. Stacking was not
possible because the wind. When I left her she was still alive. I
could do nothing.

An excellent close up with plenty of detail where it counts. Stacking would have been nice, next time, maybe.
Great closeup Bertl. Superb detail. Shame about the Dragon's wing but nature I suppose.

That is a fantastic close up, Bertl. You have even managed to get the key identification mark of this species, the yellow occipital triangle just behind the eye. Whilst there is little to confuse a golden ringed dragonfly with in the UK, in Europe there are several similar species.
I think I might have toned the highlights down a little, but what a cracking shot.

I'm glad these aren't 6 feet long, we'd stand no chance if they were.
Well done.
