Hmmm, I thought this different crop (with more room at the bottom of the little drop in the creek) would be better, but by the time I framed a 20mm focal length shot with the Sigma Wide angle, the light in the creek changed. I think the first one is still better.

yes, I like the bottom cropping on this one better, but I agree the light was better on the other one; the mid-ground isn't so bad, but the bright rocks and foliage in the bottom left corner seem too bright (maybe if you toned them down some?, and the highlights in the mountain also seem too bright

I agree with you on both thoughts Marylynne. Regardless, nice classic views of Rainier.
Thanks, John and Joe. I tried to bring down the exposure on the right (it was even worse). Could try again or look again at the 15 or so I took. I think once the sun rose enough to cast uneven light in the creek, the composition got lost in the busy-ness of crazy light.

Hi Marylynne, this one is great from a composition perspective, but you're right, the light on the other one is better. Still, a little strategic work with selections and curves would probably do a lot for this one...mainly darkening the lower left some...because it's so bright it draws my eye away from the rest of the scene.
