Peacock Butterfly
I took this today while on the Eastern Moors near Sheffield. I was getting used to my new Canon 300mm F4 L IS lens. I am glad I made the change from the Canon 100-400 L IS zoom lens, I am getting sharper images with better colour and the weight difference certainly helps. I know that the background leaves a lot to be desired but it is one of my best butterfly shots to date.

A little large in the frame for my personal taste, Andy. However, such shots are always good with a new lens as they show you what it can do. First impressions sound very positive.

You've done well here Andy and you now own the perfect lense for Butterfly and Dragonfly photography ( In my opinion of course  ) the 300F4IS gives a good working distance and makes photography of flighty subjects so much easier.
