Landing flaps down
Sorry but it's another puffin photo.
I have photos of other birds, honest, but I just happen to love puffins.

This was taken at a secret location on Skomer that I've named "Andy's Corner", after my friend Andy Astbury who showed me it's potential for flight shots, thanks mate

This is one of the rare occasions that I actually fired off a burst of 2 frames (wow) lol, 99% of the time I shoot single frames, even for flight shots, not through choice, but my camera is very basic, only has the one central cross-hair and has a buffer of 4 RAWs before it grinds to a halt, so I have to "wait till I see the whites of their eyes" as they say, before I take my shot, this time I got lucky and both shots were usable.

It was coming in so close that I thought it was going to land on my lens.

Superb, and I agree with Karen about it looking like it is on a trampoline!

Excellent capture Geoff, just goes to show that high end gear isn't essential when capturing good images. well done.

Looks to me like it's got a jetpack on it's back that you can't see  . It's such a differnt pose to what you normally see. A fantastically unique image.

Made me smile - it's an outstanding image! I'd love to see a version with even more negative space at the bottom of the frame.

That's a different pose and works very well indeed. Light looks a little contrasty but held together and well exposed.
