Keep yer ed down lad!
Trying something very slightly different here and searched out a mature cock Grouse still flashing a bit of colour in the eyebrow. I really wanted to focus in on this and have added some gradients in LR3 which hopefully drag the eye in to an even more narrow plain.

1D3 700mm ISO:200 1/80 sec @ f/5.6

Thanks for looking

Works very well! If anything, I wish the top corners were purple too.

That works very well and the subtle colours are great to, sometimes the risk is to over saturate them but you have handled it all very well..

I think this is a beautiful image but no sure about the red over the eye looks a little odd but that's nit picking.

Thanks Guys. Sorry Keith that's how Grouse come. The cocks have red wattles which inflate (via blood flow I presume) according to their mood. I've actually been trying to find Grouse in a heightened state of emotion (usually depends on the proximity of females or other males) to see if I can get some shots with the fully inflated eyebrows in the flowering heather. Not so easy now the breeding season has passed and the hormones aren't raging though
