Common Blue
One from a very pleasant Saturday dodging the rain showers. This one was very well behaved and posed for quite a while.

Nikon D70
Sigma 180mm 3.5 Macro
1/30 sec at f11 ISO 200
Tripod self timer

Nice and sharp, but I find it a bit too large in the frame for my personal taste.

Looks great against that background. Size in frame OK by me!

A great shot Ian.
It is big in the frame but for people with poor eyesight like myself, it's a plus
Well done.

Geoff.

Some nice detail there Ian but I too would like to see it a little smaller in the frame.. The fringe 'hairs' are little blown.

If you'd have used a compact camera you will have got more of the environment in too...  :jump:

Really nice image, its very unusual to find a common blue perched head up, have you rotated the image by 90deg? or is it natural.

You need these big in the frame to see the detail and this has bags of that.

See it paid to get wet. Lovely detail on the butterfly. Size is fine by me. Also like the water droplets on the thistle. Good BG too. :toast:
