1D Mk iv, 600mm f4, 1/160s, f8, iso 800. Cloud temporarily obscuring sun.
First outing with new Mk iv - messed up loads of shots due to unfamiliarity with the controls. I also had a problem saving for the web - the saturation was increased using the "save for web" command, so I simply saved as Jpeg, which seemed OK at the time. Red squirrels look very different (and just as appealing to me) in their summer coat.

Great whiskers Ian and good eye contact too, I haven't made up my mind about the squizzer being chopped in half by the comp, I suppose it's a personal taste thing, others my disagree.
Can't wait to see some of your low level water shots taken with the Mk iv.
What a lovely creature, really stands out against that background.
Well done.
Geoff.

Hi Ian,
I like it too.. It would seem he's got one leg shorter than the other , But it works fine for me.. A little noisy in the BG but that can be smoothed out.
I wondered when he might pop up Ian, although I was hoping to see the two tone Grouse you saw. Nice inquisitive expression and good placement in frame. Any more FG, IMHO just a tad too tight at the foot for me.
lovely shot, the contrast of green and red works great.
You should never use "save for web" with your images, not only does it compress too much but it strips all your exif and file data out to reduce file size, always use "save as"
