All week I was trying to avoid getting those dang paved paths in the shots at Paradise. I stayed 3/4 mile maybe 400 ft below Panorama Point until sunset and, on my way down, I decided to try to make the most of them.

This is a 4 shot HDR processed in Photomatix. Struggled to keep clouds from moving so I did a rapid bracket. Also, below, another shot of the flowers from above that area:

Very nice, Marylynne. I'd cut off half of the empty sky down to the top cloud.

Agree with Mark. And you could easily clone away the path... It would make a nice panorama.

Ah, I like the crop idea. Sometimes I get pano-crazy and break my habit when I shouldn't.

Regarding the path, David, do you mean clone all of both or just that weird one in the corner?

I like the central path in the image, as a leading line...the right corner could be cloned out. I like the HDR work here, Marylynne. It doesn't look it at all. I can see the crop of the sky, turning it into a pano, but I also like the sky as is...there's a subtle drama there...Nicely done.

I too would clone the path---very nice though

Here are two new treatments of the above. The first just crops the sky and removes the stretch of path in the lower right corner. The second removes all path as well. Sorry for the link....I've not officially joined the network (I know, I should...), and my posting options do not include a box for additional uploads or links. Not sure how to make the link direct either (I've tried all the linking options from Photobucket and none make it clickable.) Thanks in advance to those who take the trouble to cut and past the url into their address bar:
