Anybody know where I can get my hands on a Canon L24-105 lens fairly cheap for a few days? I'm going to Palouse next Tuesday (Aug 30) and will be back Saturday. I'm wanting to get some really high quality captures during my workshop with Chip Phillips. I already have access to a 17-40 but would like to have another lens to give me a little more zoom. I have a 28-135 but the quality isn't all that great.
Any input appreciated...Thanks!!

I can't help with the lens, Jack, but that's one of the trips on my photo bucket list. I'll be looking forward to some spectacular images and some good location advice.

Jack, you might laready be familiar with them, but I normally rent from Camren. I think they charge $25/day for that lens. If you rent on Friday, they are closed for the weekend and only charge you a one day fee for the entire weekend. Here is the link: http://camren.com/camera/35mm.html#Anchor--CAN-30629. If you rent on Tuesday, it will run you 4 day rental and due back on Monday.
I've had excelent experience renting from lensrentals.com. They have overnight shipping and don't charge extra for the transit day like a lot of these rental places and I usually get my lens the day before my rental period starts so I have a free day to enjoy it. And hypothetically, if one were to accidentally leave a $400 Singh-Ray filter attached to a lens on return they ship it back to you for free and wrapped better then Singh-Ray package, but don't ask how I know that...

Nobody....and I mean nobody photographs the Palouse as well as Chip Phlllips!
I hope you get that lens and have a splendid time over there with him. Get as many postprocessing tips as you can from him, and then share 'em here, please.

Thats exactly why we hired him John...what awesome post processing!! Two of my buddies and I contracted him for a couple days.
I talked to Jared at Pro Photo Rental today and think we struck a deal on a rental.

Ditto what John said Jack! I've wanted to do a workshop with Chip for some time now and just haven't had the $ to make it happen (story of my life). Hopefully you'll share your experience and some pics here when you get back. Have a great time!
