I need to purchase a pair of winter gloves that are compatible with photography. I've checked the web and have found a number of pairs where the fabric over the thumbs and forefingers can be pulled back and seems like they would work just fine, but I would like to hear from anyone who has first hand experience with any of these gloves. Please let me know if you have found any particular brand of gloves that either worked or didn't work for you. I don't need gloves for zero degrees, but a pair that will work around freezing. Thanks in advance.

Hey Carol, I use this glove for fall and spring when temps are not to cold aquatech-sensory-gloves
When winter comes I still use this glove but then add a insulated mitten over top of these. You can check out the mitts at www.rei,com. The mitts come with a cord that can be attached to your jacket at the arm, and then just pull the mitts off when you go to work with the camera and the mitts will hang by the cord from your arm. After you shoot, you slip the mitts back on.
If it's really cold I may add handwarmers inside the mitt.
Just make sure the mitts are sized to fit over the glove without to much trouble getting them on and off.

I also use the aquatech-sensory-gloves that Mike mentioned. I like them very much and often wear a light pair of glove liners inside of them that don't impede dexterity.

I'll add another endorsement for thw Aquatech sensory gloves. My husband got me a pair last Christmas. They provide enough warmth for late autumn here in northern NY, but do need the mittens Mike suggested when the temperature drops below freezing. They're also light enough to wear as hand protection during bug season. The mosquitos and biting flies don't seem to be able to penetrate them.

Thanks for the responses. With 3 good recommendations for the Aquatech sensory gloves, I'm going to give them a try.
While you're at it, buy a pair of lightweight polypro of silk gloves to go underneath. Inevitably you need to pull of the heavier gloves now and then, and you'll find the second layer priceless.

Good recommendations on the Aquatech. I'll be adding a pair for winter also. In the past, I've been happy with a pair of the convertible mittens/gloves (mittens will keep your fingers warmer in most cases) Just another option, but like I said, the Aquatech are on my list for this winter!
