Quickstep Kestrel
Saw this adult male Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) doing some quickstep a couple of weeks ago. Normally they are pretty shy here, but due to 3 months with continuos snow (which is unusual here), raptors are becoming very hungry and less shy.

20D + 500/4; iso 400, 1/640 f8; handheld from car and cropped to vertical.

Hi Helge,
I find the soft,even lighting absolutely gorgeous in this shot.The pose with the raised foot is great and the way the birds head,background and post are so similarly coloured works superbly.
A very special and particularly appealing shot.Congrats.
