Lovely light Ed, reminds me of one of Danny's image - you know, the one on his dinning room wall.
My only tiny nit is that I'd prefer the bird to be slightly higher up in the frame. The mid section is a bit blank. I know it's tricky framing a flying subject, as big as it is, so this is easier said than done.
I like this composition, very beautifull light you have here also.

Hi Edwin
Works for me - I think the blank area helps to portray the vast wild areas where these birds are found and in this image the large area of calm water also gives a tranquil atmosphere to the scene.
Jules, I think the word I used was 'remind', not similar or the same. I think Ed seeks honest comments from this forum, however indifferent. It's good that you've pointed out his intention to capture this very image - just goes to show how capable a photographer he is (which I know and respect) but it's irrelevant to my (personal) view of how I see the image.
it's technically flawless Edwin and a beautiful setting but the comp doesn't quite work for me with the bird so low in the frame. Still a lovely image though.

Thanks everyone. Yes, I'm looking for honest opinions and this is the place to get them. The first image was already born in my salamander brain before we sailed out. The eagle is right where I want it. So nailed this one. Maybe not the best comp for some and that's fair. So many people see things differently and thank God for that. Of course I wasn't born yesterday and try to get as much different settings as I can. I never add canvas to an image so it has to be right in the camera. Thanks Des and thanks Jules and of course all the others. I really appreciate all the comments as long as they are honest. And for Danny's shot....it's perfect, just perfect and I'm not lying when I say the rotund one is a big source of inspiration to me but will I try to copy his work? No never, inspired? Hell yeah!
Hope you like this one.
Think I prefer no2. It provides the viewer with a fantastic sense of the location.

Number two for me too due to the clarity throughout the image. Although the first has nice ripples I prefer the image to have more clarity...I'm torn!

Hello Edwin
Both are cracking shots and you boys look like you had the perfect conditions which is a major help at this location. I have heard so many photographers say that Sea Eagles have been done to death so why bother, well the images you guys got prove my point that there is always a different take, another angle or view point. And Des it shows how long it has been since you came round for a cup of tea you misrable git because the missus has replaced my Eagle shot with a shitty canvas print of a flower from Ikea, women no taste.
