The light conditions brought me the idea to test the high iso of my camera.

Canon EOS 7D
Exposure 0.008 sec (1/125)
Aperture f/6.3
Focal Length 700 mm
ISO Speed 3200
Exposure Bias +2/3 EV

Very nice especially at iso3200 - have you applied any noise reduction to this image?

ISO 3200?, crikey, my camera shows more noise than this at ISO 100, that's incredible, I just gotta change my kit

Oh, brilliant photo too by the way

That is amazing !
It does show that money talks !
Imagine that iso in the old film days.!
My camera won't go much above 800 so you have 2 stops advantage which is a lot in shutter speed. All this does is make me quite fed up with the fact that I can't afford the gear which would make such a difference to my type of photography or the trips to photo hot spots.
And so as I said at first- Money in the photo world really does talk.

Nice shot and subject to test with, but I'm asking the same noise reduction question as David, I ask as the birds breast feathers seam to be smoothed out a bit.

Of course I used noise reduction at ISO 3200, I have done this in Photoshop and lightroom.

Great shot at iso 3200 Marcel but the noise reduction is very evident.

Great shot and superb quality Marcel. I never tried a higher ISO than 1000 on my 7D.
But with the new Adobe ACR converter I will make a test soon.

Firstly Marcel, a very interesting (in a positive way!) shot. Not sure if it's your intention to discuss noise but if it is, you need to post a 100% crop. At this size it's difficult to make any critical assessment.

the noise (or lack of it) looks very good at this size, though I suspect the high res version isn't so impressive in terms of noise. A lovely kingfisher shot though, good alert pose and nice soft light.

It does look good at this size but I found with the 7D that above iso 800 critical detail was lost which really affected print making. That said, as a web image it looks great and the NR really hasn't had too much of an impact here.
