Travelling up there next week, and wondering if anyone had some recommendations for nature sites. There is a coastal walk I will be exploring, plus Whitby, but wondering about nature sites in particular.
Mark, Check out the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust's website for a few reserves around Whitby. Bempton/Flamborough Head are not too far south of there either.

Simon,
Thanks for that - searching via the normal search engine did not reveal much - that site has a very helpful map with the reserves linking to relevant details - very helpful.
Try the moorland inland & NW from Whitby for Grouse. Other than that the only other site that comes to mind is around Scaling Dam (again NW from Whitby heading for Teesside) - often lists migrants, but it's the quiet time of year for much around there.
