I cannot seem to detatch the Manfrotto 393 head from my tripod's central column. Unlike other manfrotto heads, it isn't screwed in using the three screws, but just the one in the middle...

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

I don't know, Oscar. I'll be back tomorrow and I'll check my 393 out and see if I can work out what the problem is.

There are three grub scews on the bottom but they are only a safety device to ensure it can't come off. The main problem is that the 393 can become very tight on the central column, there is a hole on the bottom plate which is desgined so you can get a screw driver in and get some leverage to free it up. Bit of brut force and ignornace is required

Hope that helps
